1939 was an excellent year for the Hollywood Old West Western and this Movie with William Boyd starring as Hopalong Cassidy, one of my favorite Western Star Heroes, is no exception. SUNSET TRAIL, It’s the 1st Movie revealing a New Business called a DUDE RANCH where City Slickers can go and try their hand at doing some Ranching Chores like riding Horses and rounding up cows. I did all that and castrated calves and roped and BRANDED Calves and pulled Calves and hauled over 100,000 bales of hay. Yes, I worked on Ranches and farms, but mostly Ranches and hauled hay after work while working at the Texas PRISON-the Deadly Ellis Unit.

But not no more for me. Still, if you want to experience part of the Old West, visiting a DUDE RANCH would be a cool thing to be able to add to your Bucket List, but do it when you are young or physically capable.
