(Setting: A grand medieval castle, with knights bustling about, preparing their armor and weapons for the battle ahead)
ACT I
(Scene 1)
Enter the Green Knight, shrouded in an eerie mist as he strides confidently through the castle gates. A hush falls over the knights as they recognize the legendary figure.

GREEN KNIGHT:
I have returned, my friends. Once again, I come to test your mettle and challenge your worth.
(Knights step forward with cheers, but their confidence soon wanes as the Green Knight unsheathes his sword.)
KNIGHT 1:
By the heavens above! He is unstoppable!
KNIGHT 2:
We’ll never be able to defeat him!
(The knights fall back, fear written on their faces, as the Green Knight surveys the battlefield.)
(Scene 2)
Enter a young boy, barely a teen, who looks just as surprised to find himself here as anyone else.
YOUNG BOY:
What’s happening here? Suddenly, the ground shook and a mysterious, green mist filled the air. The sound of hooves could be heard approaching in the distance. The young boy trembled with fear as the Green Knight emerged through the mist.
GREEN KNIGHT: “I have returned from the grave, and I challenge all the knights to a fight.”
The brave knights rode forward to meet the Green Knight, but their swords merely glanced off his armor. One by one, the knights fell to the ground, defeated.
YOUNG BOY: “I must save them! But how?”

Suddenly, the young boy remembered the legend of the magical sword that could only be pulled from a solid rock by the true hero. He ran towards the nearest rock and, with all his might, pulled out the sword.
As he held the sword aloft, it began to glow with a bright light. The Green Knight roared in anger and charged towards the boy. But the boy lifted the sword and struck the Green Knight down
But it were a Dream in the boy’s mind.
Act I
Scene I:

[Enter King Arthur and his knights]
King Arthur: So gentle knights, what news you have for me?
Sir Gawain: My lord, I ran into a strange figure on my journey home. A knight with green skin rode out from the forest and challenged me to a duel. He claimed to be the Green Knight, but I thought he was dead!
Sir Lancelot: How can that be, Gawain? We beheaded him years ago.
Sir Gawain: I cannot say for sure, Lancelot. But he was most definitely alive, and he issued a challenge that all knights of the realm must face him in battle.
King Arthur: Then we must prepare ourselves for this new challenge. But who among us is brave enough to face this foe?
[Enter a young boy, who steps forward timidly]
Boy: My lord, I am but a lowly squire, but I will face this challenge.
King Arthur: You are braveand determined, young squire. May the gods be with you on your quest to defeat the Green Knight and protect our kingdom.
Act I
Scene II
The King’s castle. Enter King Arthur, Sir Gawain and other knights.
King Arthur: (lamenting) I cannot believe that the Green Knight has returned from the dead. His power was formidable in life and now, in death, he will be even more dangerous.
Sir Gawain: I fear we will not be able to defeat him. He was the strongest knight in the land.
King Arthur: (decisively) We must try. Our kingdom is at stake.

Enter the Green Knight.
Green Knight: (challenging) I have returned from the dead and I challenge any knight to fight me. If he can defeat me, I will leave your kingdom and never return.
Sir Gawain: (stepping forward) I will face you.
Green Knight: (laughing) You are brave, SirGawain, but you are also foolish. Many knights have faced me and failed.
Sir Gawain: (drawing his sword) I am not afraid to die. I will fight for the honor of my kingdom and all those who call it home.
Green Knight: (drawing his own sword) Very well, Sir Gawain. Let us begin this battle.
(They engage in a battle that seems evenly matched, but eventually Sir Gawain begins to tire. The Green Knight gains the upper hand and prepares to strike a fatal blow when suddenly…)
Young Boy: (rushing on stage with a sword) Wait!
Green Knight: (turning to face the boy) Who are you?
Young Boy: (drawing the sword from a rock) I am the one who will defeat you!
Green Knight: (laughing) A boy? How can you hope to defeat me where so many knights have failed?
Young Boy: (with determination) I have something they didn’t. This sword.
(Enter Green Knight)
Green Knight: Ah, foolish knights, one by one you all have failed. You stand no chance against me, for I am the immortal and unbeatable Green Knight.
Young Boy: Perhaps, but I have a secret weapon that you have not seen before.
Green Knight: Ha! You are just a young boy, what weapon could you possibly have that I haven’t seen?
Young Boy: (pulls out sword from rock) This sword, sir. It is said to have magical powers which can defeat any enemy, no matter how powerful they may be.
Green Knight: Impossible! Let me see this sword.
(Young Boy hands over the sword.)
Green Knight: (examining the sword) It appears to be a normal sword to me. I don’t see anything magical about it.
Young Boy: The magic lies in the person who wields it. I have faith in myself and in this sword, and that is all I need.
Green Knight:(Stage opens to a grand hall in the Kingdom of Camelot. Knights and Ladies are gathered, enjoying a feast. Suddenly, a loud noise is heard and the Green Knight appears in the midst)
Green Knight: My dear knights, how many of you are brave enough to challenge me to a duel?

(All the knights tremble in fear, but a young boy, Arthur, steps forward)
Arthur: I will face you, Green Knight.
Green Knight: (laughs) And what weapon will you use to defeat me, boy?
Arthur: I need no weapon, for I have faith in myself and the power of this sword. (points to a rock on stage)
Green Knight: (amused) And do you really think that a sword is enough to defeat me?
Arthur: Yes, I do. For it is not the sword itself that holds power, but the faith and will of the one who wields it.
(Green Knight approaches Arthur, but upon seeing the conviction inArthur’s eyes, he stops)
Green Knight: What is this, Arthur? You dare to challenge me?
Arthur: I do not challenge you, Green Knight. But I do not fear you either.
Green Knight: (laughs) You should be afraid. I have returned from the grave to fight all the knights of Camelot.
Arthur: Why have you come back? What do you want?
Green Knight: I seek only the strongest warrior to defeat me. If none can best me, I will take over your kingdom.
Arthur: I see. But what if there is a warrior who can defeat you?
Green Knight: (smirks) Impossible. There is no one who can beat me.
Arthur: We shall see. (looks to the crowd) Who among you is brave enough to face the Green Knight?
(The knights look to each other, but none step forward. Suddenly, a young boy appears from the crowd, wielding a wooden sword)

Boy: I will do it!
(The Green Knight appears on stage, clad in armor)
Green Knight: (Chuckles) You? A mere boy, wielding a wooden sword? You think you can defeat me?
Boy: (Determinedly) Yes, I do! For honor, courage, and the love of a princess, I will take up the challenge!
Green Knight: (Amused) Very well then, let the battle begin!
(They engage in a fierce sword fight, with the Green Knight clearly having the upper hand. The boy is knocked down several times, but he gets up each time, refusing to give up. Finally, as the Green Knight is about to strike the final blow, the boy manages to pull out a magical sword from a nearby rock)
Boy: (In awe) The sword… it’s glowing!
Green Knight: (Surprised) That’s the sword of legend! No mortal has ever been able to wield it!
(With the magical sword, the boy quickly turns the tideof the battle, cutting through the Green Knight’s armor and leaving him defenseless.)
GREEN KNIGHT: (Defeated) You are truly worthy of this victory, young lad. Take my head as a trophy, as per the terms of our agreement.
BOY: (Hesitant) I don’t know if I’m ready for that…it seems like a gruesome thing to do…
GREEN KNIGHT: (Chuckling weakly) Fear not, lad. ‘Tis merely a test of your bravery. And besides, I am not truly dead. This is but a mere illusion.
BOY: (Nods slowly, then takes a deep breath) Very well then. (With one swift motion, the boy beheads the Green Knight. The crowd cheers wildly as the boy holds up the Green Knight’s head triumphantly.)
PRINCESS: (Rushing forward) Oh brave knight, you have saved our lands and our people from certain doom. Please, accept my hand inmarriage as a token of my deepest appreciation and gratitude.”
The crowd erupted into cheers as the young boy approached the throne, the magical sword still in his grip. The princess rose from her seat and approached him, her eyes shining with admiration.

“I can’t believe it,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper. “You are truly the bravest knight I’ve ever known. One day soon, we shall wed.”
As the two embraced, the Green Knight’s defeated army slunk away, their hopes of conquering the land shattered. For years to come, the people would speak of the young boy’s bravery and fierce determination in the face of danger. And though the Green Knight had returned to the earth from whence he came, his legacy would live on in the tales of knights and warriors throughout the land.
In the near future, the young boy was made a Knight and King Arthur gave the Princess to the boy to be his wife. But he was no boy any longer. He was the bravest Knight in all the Land.
