“American Gun Violence Syndrome” (AGVS)?

Can’t we create a disease name, (AGVS) already exists for automated driving vehicles, but I can suggest a name for the phenomenon of Active Shooters in America. I would call it “American Gun Violence Syndrome” (AGVS). We don’t need to use AGVS or do we? We can drop that. Or just keep it Active Shooter. “American Gun Violence Syndrome” (AGVS) as a name is descriptive of the problem, as it identifies the United States as the country where the problem is most acute, and it also identifies the specific cause of the problem, which is gun violence. America, let’s face it, has a Disease!

“American Gun Violence Syndrome” (AGVS)

AGVS is a serious problem that has caused a great deal of suffering and death in America. It is a complex problem with no easy solutions, but it is important to start by naming the problem and identifying its causes. Once we have done that, we can begin to develop effective solutions.

Here are some of the causes of AGVS:

  • Easy access to guns: The United States has more guns per capita than any other country in the world. This makes it easy for people to obtain guns, even if they should not have them.
  • A culture of violence: America has a long history of violence, both in its history and in its popular culture. This culture of violence normalizes violence and makes it more likely that people will resort to violence to solve their problems.
  • Mental health problems: Some active shooters have mental health problems, but it is important to note that not all active shooters have mental health problems. In fact, most active shooters do not have mental health problems.

There are a number of things that can be done to address AGVS. Some of these things include:

  • Gun control: There are a number of gun control measures that could be implemented to reduce the number of guns in circulation and make it more difficult for people to obtain guns.
  • Mental health care: There needs to be more funding for mental health care, so that people who need help can get it.
  • Changing the culture of violence: We need to change the culture of violence in America, so that violence is no longer seen as a normal way to solve problems.

AGVS is a serious problem, but it is not insurmountable. With the right combination of policies and initiatives, we can reduce the number of active shooter incidents in America and make our country safer.
