Texas Power Grid gets an “F” Rating

Look at these Pics I screenshotted or pics I took on my phone. It’s of our Texas Electrical Grid yesterday and it’s conditions and COST to customers. The time and date is on some pics. Texas yesterday barely had a test of its New Prouder Electrical Grid that they’ve been bragging about in Austin, Texas. And it got an “F” Rating. At only 102 at our home. What? Are we facing a poor electrical grid still?

We are here in Texas…

But keep looking, it goes lower. Down to 3992. Holy Crap!

3992 Reserve Megawatts is a Dangerously Low Level. This Level can quickly force Users of the Grid to begin BLACKOUT ROLLOUTS. Or quickly go into a total Grid Blackout if Demand surpasses Supply.

Holy Cow! 2225

In East Texas, We had 84 MPH winds. It was one heck of a storm. Trees down all over town. At one time 250,000 people had no power. They say it will all be restored by Friday. They are making a lot of progress.

And look at the Map, what’s it mean if your County was in White? White Colored? Here’s a description from a friend-

Last night they said power had been restored to all but 32,000 homes. 32,000 is a lot, but it’s a lot less than 250,000. Lines at the few gas stations with power were 50 cars deep, Saturday. All of the traffic lights were out. The grocery stores were open, but they only accepted cash and you couldn’t buy anything refrigerated, because it all spoiled.

The poor cops were in the major intersections directing traffic, in the heat, for 12 hour shifts. It has been really something. People are a little irritated, but nobody has done anything crazy. Most people are behaving and dealing with it.

All that aside, if this goes on for long, even a polite society would crash and turn in to a bunch of savages.

A full hour went by and the Grid was smoking in Nightmare Cost to the User-All YOU Texans!

The cost of electricity in Texas is outrageous, and the FACT REMAINS that the grid is poorly prepared for extreme weather events. But they really aren’t extreme even.

Texas Power Grid gets an “F” Rating!

The fact that the grid only had 3992 reserved megawatts yesterday as temperatures went to 102 is a clear indication that there are serious problems with the Grid System. IT IS STILL POORLY DESIGNED FOR EXTREME WEATHER. But yesterday, they put the money SHAFT to all Texans.

EXTREME WEATHER? 102 or higher temperatures is normal summer weather for Texas during the summer months. The Famous February Freeze was a good test but the System was poorly designed from freezing weather conditions. And I bet it still is. This is not the first time that Texas has experienced a power grid failure, and it is likely not the last. Our home got hit damn hard with those rolling Blackouts-No Warnings, No Nothing! I called my Legislator and asked why can’t we be warned when our Electricity is going to be shut down by man and not weather. They can do this but did they? NO! NO! NO!

The cost of upgrading the grid is significant and the State is robbing the State Kitty and charging the Users to do this but I’m still not seeing a Grid improvement, but it is a necessary investment in order to ensure the reliability of the system. The cost of not upgrading the grid could be even higher, as the state could experience more power outages and blackouts. This would have a negative impact on the economy and the quality of life for Texans.

I believe that the state needs to invest in upgrading the grid more correctly, even if it means raising electricity rates. The cost of not upgrading the grid is simply too high.

Here are some of the things that Texas could do to improve the reliability of its power grid:

  • Increase the amount of reserve power available.
  • Make the grid more resilient to extreme weather events.
  • Invest in new technologies, such as battery storage and smart grid technology.
  • Reform the wholesale electricity market to encourage investment in reliability.

It is important to remember that the cost of electricity is not just about the price that consumers pay on their bills. It is also about the cost of lost productivity, economic disruption, and public safety. By investing in a more reliable grid, Texas can save money in the long run.

In Texas, the Electrical Grid could get you Killed by doing dangerous Blackouts. Many are in their homes on Oxygen and their oxygen machine needs electricity.

EXTREME Heat or Cold will kill a fella in Texas.
