Mexican Miguel’s Mexican Tales

Buenas Diaz, I am Miguel’s Pappa and I want to share three tales for you. They are short tales but long believed to be the last Mexican Tales ever told by mi Pappa, Andrés Manuel López Obrador

The Tortolita Mountains are a modest mountain range northwest of Tucson, Arizona, USA, at the northern boundaries of Oro Valley and Marana, two suburbs of Tucson.

The Beast of the Tortilla Mountains

Once upon a time, there was a beast that lived in the Tortilla Mountains. The beast had two heads of eagles, the chest of a tortilla, and the legs of a dragon. It was a fearsome creature, and no one dared to go near it.

One day, a young shepherd boy named Miguel was tending his flock in the Tortilla Mountains when he came across the beast. The beast was asleep, and Miguel was curious. He had never seen anything like it before.

Miguel slowly approached the beast and examined it. The beast was even more fearsome up close, but Miguel was not afraid. He had always been a brave boy.

Miguel reached out and touched the beast’s feathers. The feathers were soft and warm, and Miguel felt a strange connection to the beast. He knew that the beast was not evil, even though it looked so fearsome.

The beast woke up and saw Miguel. It looked at him with its two eagle eyes, and Miguel felt a sense of understanding. The beast knew that Miguel was not afraid, and it did not attack him.

Miguel and the beast became friends. Miguel would often visit the beast, and they would talk for hours. The beast told Miguel about its life, and Miguel told the beast about his.

One day, a group of hunters came to the Tortilla Mountains. They were looking for the beast, and they were armed with spears and bows and arrows.

Miguel saw the hunters and knew that they were going to hurt the beast. He ran to the beast and told it to run away. The beast did not want to leave Miguel, but it knew that it had to.

The beast ran away, and the hunters chased after it. Miguel watched as the hunters shot their arrows at the beast. The beast was wounded, but it kept running.

Finally, the beast could run no more. It collapsed on the ground, and the hunters surrounded it. They were about to kill the beast when Miguel stepped in front of it.

“Don’t hurt it!” Miguel said. “It’s my friend.”

The hunters were surprised. They had never seen a boy stand up to them before.

“This beast is dangerous,” one of the hunters said. “It could kill you.”

“I don’t care,” Miguel said. “I’m not going to let you hurt it.”

The hunters looked at each other. They knew that Miguel was a brave boy, and they didn’t want to hurt him.

“Fine,” the hunter said. “We’ll leave it alone.”

The hunters turned and walked away, and Miguel helped the beast to its feet. The beast was grateful to Miguel for saving its life, and it knew that it had found a true friend.

Miguel and the beast lived together in the Tortilla Mountains for many years. They were best friends, and they protected each other from harm.

One day, Miguel grew old and died. The beast was very sad, but it knew that Miguel would always be in its heart. The beast continued to live in the Tortilla Mountains, and it told stories of Miguel to all who would listen.

The end.
