This stunning photo Nazi concentration camp survivors being liberated is full of a litany of emotions. There’s the pure elation on their faces, the horror at the condition they’re in, the uncertainty of their lives going forward, and if they had anything to go home to. It’s all quite overwhelming to try and take in, even almost 80 years later. Photos like this also served the purpose of documenting the atrocities of the Nazi regime and revealing them to the world.
