At Christmas Time, we cannot allow ourselves or others to dilute the beautiful Birth of Christ with Holiday Shopping Frenzies. Christmas is a most exciting time to be with family and to watch youngsters enjoy opening of Presents.

But Christmas cannot overlook the Birth of Christ. It doesn’t have to be that people look in other ways, yet people tend to look in all the directions that others lead them. And Advertisers are all about luring you away to purchase a new something that you’ll never use? Or RETURN IT when you get IT.

But the Love of Christ isn’t going away. Your presents will go away. Get Old, wear out, or break. But the Love of God doesn’t go away. And so, I wish to share the

Last Supper of Christ

A very long time ago in the ancient city of Jerusalem, Jesus and his friends, the disciples, gathered for a special meal known as the Last Supper. The air was filled with anticipation as they sat around a simple table.

Jesus, with kindness in his eyes, explained to his friends the significance of the meal. He took a loaf of bread and said, “This is my body, given for you.” Then he passed a cup of wine, saying, “This is my blood, poured out for you. Remember me through these symbols.”

As they shared the bread and wine, a sense of love and togetherness filled the room. Jesus spoke of love, forgiveness, and the importance of caring for one another. The disciples, wide-eyed and curious, listened intently, absorbing the wisdom of their teacher.

In that sacred moment, Jesus showed them the true meaning of friendship and sacrifice. He washed the disciples’ feet, teaching them humility and the joy that comes from serving others. The room echoed with laughter, love, and the warmth of companionship.

Soon, the tranquility of the garden was disrupted by the arrival of those who sought to arrest Jesus. Judas, one of Jesus’s close friends, betrayed him with a kiss, leading to his arrest. The disciples were startled and confused, but Jesus urged them to remember the lessons of love and forgiveness he had shared during the Last Supper.

As events unfolded, the disciples witnessed both sorrow and miracles. Through it all, they clung to the teachings of their beloved teacher. Jesus’s journey took him to the cross, where he demonstrated the ultimate sacrifice for the sake of love and redemption.

The disciples, though heartbroken, later discovered the joy of Easter morning when Jesus rose from the dead. This resurrection brought hope and a renewed sense of purpose, echoing the lessons of the Last Supper.
