Are you gettin hungry? And needing a good round of morning of good ole healthy sugars, then get ready to fix a real Texas Treat for all y’alls young gunslingers or them top carrying lariat busters. Get Ready and get to gathering some things.
What are you gonna need?
- A hand electric mixer with those twirly things attached. You know for mixing up stuff faster than what you can hand mix.
- Brown sugar.
- Liquid Vanilla Extract. I use the Mexican Brand straight from Mexico. I don’t use the clear one. I use a whole tablespoon in this mixture today.

And it’ll wake up the roosters for sure since you already got up with them clucking monsters.
Here’s more stuff you gonna need.
- Butter. I use Unsalted. About six Tablespoons.
- A Frozen pack of Bread Slices. I use a whole loaf of Mrs. Bairds Bread. Using FROZEN Slices will help you like a good trained horse will. You don’t want your break falling apart being all thawed out when you put them slices in your Texas French Toast Mixture.
- A tablespoon of Cinnamon.
- A teaspoon of nutmeg.
- Good dash of Milk. Around 1/2 to 3/4 cup.
- A good grab of Brown Sugar. About at least a 1/2 cup.
- Four Eggs. Whole eggs minus their shells. You understand?
- Don’t forget a tablespoon of that Vanilla.
Now let’s check again, did you use eggs, milk, vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, and Brown sugar in your listing bowl? Look at it. Is all of them in there? Be sure! Don’t skimp. If you don’t like nutmeg, don’t use it. But the others are necessary I’d say.

Now throw all of your ingredients into a Pyrex mixing bowl. PUT your eggs in before you add your milk. That’s so you can see any broken egg shell pieces if there are any in Your mixing bowl. Get them out if there are any. And you can melt your butter if you want before you add everything else.
Turn on your griddle or pan on 350 degrees! Get it ready!
But I can’t wait that long to wait for butter to melt and I throw it all in together and get to mixing that stuff on HIGH for several minutes. About three minutes. Butter gonna melt while Your bread is cooking.
Now. Pull out your bread out of the Freezer. Pull apart six slices.
Now if you gonna want sliced sausage, bacon, or a meat with your Texas French Toast, THEN COOK IT FIRST. And mix your other ingredients into the mixer bowl while you cooking. And when that good heart warming Bacon is ready, I like smoked Bacon thick sliced and all. And it’ll always be pleasing to all your cowboys and cowgirls as they walk into eating area. It’ll race up their nostrils and it smells so good.

Bacon is the Best Smelling Best Cooking Perfume smell there ever was.
I don’t know why they don’t put it in a spray bottle. I’d rather lick a woman’s neck smelling like fresh cooked smoky bacon on her than some odor that smells like they crushed up a thousand different bugs together to put together a perfume smell that ain’t natural smelling together no how.

Now, are you Ready?
You mixed up your mixture in the mixing bowl. And you just pulled your frozen bread slices apart. If not, you missed a step or you one point short of stupid. I hate try to teach stupid folks. Don’t you? And they the ones you had to teach to wipe their butts after pooping in an outhouse ten times longer that a non-stupid youngster.. You know if you got a stupid one in your litter, don’t we?
Nope, you can’t cull them out like culling your here. Face it, you got stuck with a stupido. And you’ll love them too.
Now move your mixer bowl right up to your hot pan or griddle and one at a time, do this!

Push a slice of bread into the mixture and push it all the way down. Up and down about three times and then put that mixture Laden slice onto your pan or Griddle.
And do all those slices. Line them up nice and pretty style on your Griddle. And cook for three minutes on each side. Two minutes of your Griddle cooks quicker than normal.
***But as your slices are sitting there on the Griddle for the first side to cook, add an equal looking amount of your leftover mixture on top of each slice of bread. About maybe two or three tablespoons. Doesn’t have to be exact and there may not be enough to put some extra mixture on each slice of bread squealing for their share. Just joking. Ain’t none of them gonna be squealing.

At the end of cooking one side, flip them over and cook other side for three minutes.
When the 2nd side is thru cooking, put them on plates that you can put Maple Syrup on too. You can put your on a plate. Two on top of each other like in the picture. And pour on that syrup and EAT them while it’s good and freshly cooked.

It’s so gosh darn good that I wanna cook and eat some more after just looking at the pictures. They are so yummiest for your tummies. Purely ten times yummiest than pancakes or waffles.
Yet, you can add more butter on them freshly cooked if you want. If you’re a butter lover, do it. Make it like you like it. Don’t serve this up to no Dietist Type Person so tgey can belly ache how they can eat only a single half slice of one slice. Feed them cereal and don’t think nothing about it. You gotta worry about you and yours, not no bellyachers.

It’s all about THE enjoyment of Eating great warm tummy loving food. Ain’t it?
My horse loves licking my lips after I had a batch of fresh cooked Texas French Toast.
Yep, I’m a real Texan born and lived mist of my life in Texas except for military duty with an Overseas Tour too. And they didn’t serve no French Toast Overseas. Them Orientals ain’t never even seen it before.
Folks I hope you’ll try it, I can’t explain it no better.
