Victoria Roschyna disappeared on August 3, 2023 in the occupied territory, from where she was reporting.
The NSJU demands the immediate and unconditional release from captivity of Victoria Roschyna and other illegally captured journalists

How many journalists killed in Gaza?
According to the Committee to Protect Journalists, as of 5 April 2024 the conflict in Gaza, Israel and Lebanon had claimed the lives of 108 Palestinian, 3 Lebanese and 2 Israeli journalists. A July 2024 count by the Gaza government media office placed the number of Palestinian journalists killed at 160.
That is Unbelievable!!!!
Even during the many years of the Vietnam War, 160 Journalists were not Killed.

How many journalists were killed in the Vietnam War?

This article is a partial list of journalists killed and missing during the Vietnam War. More than 100 journalists victims of Russian crimes during two years of covering war in Ukraine
“The media have been the direct victims of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In 2023, as in 2022, journalists have unfortunately paid with their lives for their reporting in the field, while others have been wounded or imprisoned by the Russian occupation forces, or have disappeared. We pay tribute to the courage of these professionals, who continue to cover the war, and we demand that the perpetrators of the crimes against them be brought to justice.

Two journalists have been killed while reporting near the front line in Ukraine in 2023, following the nine killed the year before. Arman Soldin, a journalist with French and Bosnian dual nationality working for Agence France-Presse, was killed in a hail of rocket-fire on 9 May while covering the situation near Bakhmut, in the Donetsk region. Two weeks before that, Ukrainian journalist and fixer Bohdan Bitik was fatally shot by a Russian sniper while accompanying an Italian reporter for the newspaper La Repubblica near the southeastern city of Kherson.
Since February 2022, 35 Ukrainian and foreign reporters have been wounded while reporting in the field, especially near the front.
In the occupied Ukrainian territories, Russia hunts down journalists who refuse to collaborate. In two years, at least 12 local journalists have been detained by the Russian occupying forces, and some have been sentenced. The persecution of independent journalists has also intensified in Crimea. Iryna Danilovych, a Crimea-based freelance journalist reporting for several local media outlets, was abducted by Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) in April 2022 and was transferred to a prison in Russia in July 2023. In the occupied city of Melitopol, in southeastern Ukraine, several journalists working for a Telegram news channel operated by the Ukrainian news site RIA-Melitopol were arrested in August 2023 for “spying” and have been imprisoned ever since.
Russia’s war in Ukraine, chaos in Haiti and rising violence by criminal groups in Mexico have contributed to a rise in the number of journalists killed doing their work in 2022, according to a new report by the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ).
Even in America’s own backyard, Journalists have and continue to die in Mexico.
Mexico stands out as the most dangerous country in the Americas for reporters, and one of the most dangerous across the world — surpassed only by active war zones. A total of 166 journalists have been killed in Mexico since 2000 in relation to their work, according to the press freedom organization Article 19.

The Israel-Gaza war has taken an unprecedented toll on Gazan journalists since Israel declared war on Hamas following its attack against Israel on October 7, 2023.
As of August 23, 2024, CPJ’s preliminary investigations showed at least 116 journalists and media workers were among the more than 41,000 killed since the war began, making it the deadliest period for journalists since CPJ began gathering data in 1992.
With no journalists, what is taking place cannot be Reported. War Atrocities cannot be Reported in a truthful, believable manner.
Has War Crimes been committed in Ukraine by Russia? Has War Crimes been committed in Gaza by Israel? No one will ever know the truth without Reporters who know that they must go into Harm’s Way to get to the Truth. Without them, we are ignorant and Lies and falsehoods arise. American Journalists are Reporting Baby, even Hollywoodish safe Reporting Stories from a bedroom desk.
Thank God for the brave Reporters in Mexico, Gaza, and Ukraine. I Salute each of you.
