Mensaje a quienes están a punto de ser deportados de los Estados Unidos

A todos ustedes, que están enfrentando la dura realidad de la deportación, quiero que sepan que valoro profundamente su arduo trabajo y la contribución que han hecho a este país. Nunca he encontrado que su presencia sea una molestia aquí en Texas. Al crecer, trabajé con vaqueros en un rancho, y me enseñaron el verdadero significado del respeto y la amabilidad.

Es desconcertante ver cómo un presidente multimillonario está tan decidido a expulsar a millones de personas que, como ustedes, han aportado tanto a la sociedad estadounidense. ¿Por qué hay una urgencia por eliminar la presencia de tantos aquí? No entiendo la lógica detrás de esta política que parece carecer del más básico sentido de humanidad.

Lo que también me inquieta es saber que muchos países de América del Sur y México permitirán estas deportaciones aceptando de vuelta a sus ciudadanos. ¿Dónde está la fortaleza en estas decisiones? Preguntas como estas resuenan en mi mente: ¿Son débiles? ¿No tienen el arrobo para defender a su gente? La verdad es que ver a los Estados Unidos deportar a personas que regresarán a la pobreza en sus lugares de origen me preocupa profundamente. Parece contradictorio con cualquier concepto de humanidad genuina que podamos adoptar.

A todos ustedes, quiero que sepan, este gringo los extrañará y reconoce lo duro que trabajan. Mi corazón se quiebra al pensar en su situación y en el destino que les espera. Quiero que se sientan apoyados en este difícil momento, y les deseo lo mejor en lo que venga.

Message to Those About to Be Deported from the United States

To all of you who are facing the harsh reality of deportation, I want you to know that I deeply value your hard work and the contribution you have made to this country. I have never found your presence to be a burden here in Texas. Growing up, I worked with cowboys on a ranch, and they taught me the true meaning of respect and kindness.

It is bewildering to see how a billionaire president is so determined to expel millions of people who, like you, have contributed so much to American society. Why is there such urgency to eliminate the presence of so many here? I do not understand the logic behind this policy that seems to lack the most basic sense of humanity.

What also troubles me is knowing that many countries in South America and Mexico will allow these deportations by accepting their citizens back. Where is the strength in these decisions? Questions like these resonate in my mind: Are they weak? Do they not have the resolve to defend their people? The truth is that seeing the United States deport people who will return to poverty in their homelands deeply concerns me. It seems contradictory to any genuine concept of humanity that we might adopt.

To all of you, I want you to know that this gringo will miss you and acknowledges how hard you work. My heart breaks thinking about your situation and the fate that awaits you. I want you to feel supported during this difficult time and wish you the very best in what lies ahead.

Please receive from me a “Go with God!” with a heavy heart. Know that your effort and dedication have not gone unnoticed, and my hope is that in this world, there will always be room for compassion and empathy.
