“Florida is openly hostile toward African Americans, people of color and LGBTQ+ individuals. Before traveling to Florida, please understand that the state of Florida devalues and marginalizes the contributions of, and the challenges faced by African Americans and other communities of color.”
The NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) has issued a travel advisory for the state of Florida. The advisory warns people of color to use caution when visiting Florida because of the state’s “Stand Your Ground” law, which provides legal protection to individuals who use lethal force in self-defense.
The NAACP believes that this law disproportionately harms people of color because they are more likely to be perceived as a threat in situations where lethal force is used. The advisory also cites other issues such as police brutality, unfair treatment of immigrants, and voter suppression.
The implications of this travel advisory could be significant for Florida’s tourism industry, as it may deter people of color from visiting the state. It may also lead to increased scrutiny and criticism of Florida’s laws and policies, particularly around race relations.
Additionally, the issuing of a travel advisory by a well-respected organization like the NAACP sends a strong message about the need for change and reform in Florida and other states that have similar. The NAACP, a civil rights organization, has issued a travel advisory for the state of Florida due to concerns over racial profiling, increased hate crimes, and a lack of gun control laws. The advisory encourages caution for African American visitors to the state and highlights recent incidents of discrimination.
This action taken by the NAACP could have several implications for Florida’s tourism industry and economy, as well as for the state’s political and social climate. Potential visitors may reconsider plans to visit Florida if they feel their safety or rights may be at risk, which could lead to a decrease in tourism revenue for the state.
Additionally, this travel advisory underscores the need for change and reform in Florida and other states with similar issues, as it brings attention to discrimination and the lack of measures in place to protect the rights and safety of marginalized communities. It may also put pressure on Florida’s policymakers to address issues related to racial profiling and hate crimes and to take action to promote greater inclusivity and equality.
What’s all of this mean?
Certain ASSHOLES are still tweaking their Race Cards?
Smh, it’s happening everywhere. There will be another civil war before the end of this century.
Whites vs All Other Colors?
Above are Confederate Soldier Veterans from Coryell County, Texas
As a child, I was constantly reminded of the devastating impacts of the Civil War. Today, as an author, I strive to promote acceptance and positivity among my readers, regardless of their differences. My books serve as a gesture of reparations to the Black community, instilling hope and purpose in all who read them. I urge all individuals of color to feel proud of their heritage, but unfortunately, I have witnessed the resurgence of reprehensible white supremacy movements. Recently, I shared with you the message “Smh” that I received in response to an article I shared about travel advisories being issued for Florida targeting Black and marginalized communities.
Such sad times…
