Everyone has a Book inside of them, is it time to get yours Out?

As I wrote my last Books in a 4 book sequel, I started a regimen getting up and out of bed at 4am and then, I went to writing in a notebook or typing on a computer keypad until my hands quit working and I started hitting the wrong keys. No, not until my fingers bled. Lol.

I wrote at times almost in a state of mindful trance where reality and the unreal crossed paths. Yes, at times, I could stop and I had little idea of what I had written. Was I writing in a dream? It sure felt like one at times. Or was the Holy Spirit guiding my writing? I think the later was part of it.

When I finished, I used word correct over and over. And I used grammar check as well. I then went thru LULU to Publish the First three books. The fourth book I used NEUMANSPRINGS PUBLISHING for publishing. I also used Audiobook for an audio book on the Last Book. All 4 have their own ebook.

I also did a great amount of Black History studying and interviewed Black men and women for over ten years getting their perspectives on Black Issues. After winning their Trust, I learned secrets of being Black that actually broke me down into tears. Tears that no one should ever have had to shed. And out of those Tears, I attempted to write the Best American Black and African Culture Books possible combining both cultures into each book. Yes, I learned quickly that there is a big difference between African Culture and American Black Culture. A skin might be of a different color, but a real person lies within that skin and seeing that Person is the biggest thing any of us can do for another person. Just accept each other for who each of us is.

The first book pushed me to my own writing limitations. It was a fun write, but immensely difficult to write as well. Certain things in my life were very painful to share. Although I say it is fiction, a lot of it is not. These books hold many of my own life experiences. Especially the last book with all of the sex in it. I held back on putting it out because I feared public opinions and Yet, I knew, I needed to write about sex as well. Not as an expert but one who loved immensely and just loved Life as well.

Above is one of the main character in my books-JeanPaul

I now wrote the following story to hopefully get you over your own fear of doing a book. Of just doing it. At the end, I’ll add more-

The Journey of Writing Your Own Book

In a small, bustling town, there lived a woman named Clara. Clara was an ordinary person with an extraordinary dream. For years, she heard whispers from her heart urging her to write a book. Every night, she would dwell on the stories that danced in her mind—a tapestry of adventures, fantasy worlds, and life lessons waiting to be explored. However, life’s daily grind kept her from pursuing that dream.

One chilly autumn evening, wrapped in a warm blanket with a cup of herbal tea, Clara decided it was finally time. She opened her laptop, the screen illuminating her cozy space, and the familiar hum of creativity began to swirl around her. Here’s why she felt everyone should take the time to write their own book, and why you should too.

1. Discover Your Voice:
Writing a book is like unearthing a treasure buried deep within you. Through the writing process, you discover your unique voice and perspective. Each word you write is like a brushstroke on the canvas of your identity, helping you understand who you are and what you truly believe. It empowers you to express your thoughts succinctly and passionately.

2. Share Your Experiences:
Every person has a story worth telling. Clara realized that her life’s experiences—her triumphs and struggles—could resonate with others. By sharing her story, she could inspire someone going through a similar journey. When you write, you create a bridge that connects your life to that of others, fostering empathy and understanding.

3. Foster Creativity:
Writing stimulates your imagination and encourages you to think outside the box. It allows you to escape reality and dive into a realm where anything is possible. Clara often found herself lost in the vibrant worlds she created, where dragons roamed and heroes rose to the occasion. Embracing your creativity makes life more vibrant and brings joy to your daily routine.

4. Leave a Legacy:
Clara desired to leave behind a piece of herself—a legacy that would endure even after she was gone. Writing a book offers you the chance to preserve your thoughts, ideas, and lessons learned for future generations. You have the power to influence others, provoke thought, and change lives through your words.

5. Personal Growth:
The journey of writing is one of introspection and growth. It challenges you to confront your fears, doubts, and dreams. Clara often found herself revisiting painful memories as she wrote, but each encounter helped her heal and grow stronger. Writing forces you to reflect and become a better version of yourself, and that’s a gift everyone deserves to experience.

6. Cultivating Discipline:
Writing a book requires dedication and discipline. Clara set aside time each day, and with each keystroke, she nurtured her commitment. This practice not only helped her complete her book but also instilled a sense of accomplishment and routine in her life—valuable skills that translated into other areas.

7. Connect with Others:
Writing is not a solitary endeavor; it opens doors to a community of like-minded individuals. Clara joined a local writers’ group where she found encouragement, support, and valuable feedback. Sharing your journey with others can help you overcome obstacles and celebrate milestones together.

8. Embrace Vulnerability:
Putting your thoughts down on paper requires courage. Clara realized that embracing vulnerability could lead to powerful connections with readers. Sharing your journey—even the messy parts—reminds others that they are not alone in their struggles. It fosters authenticity and relatability in a world that often feels disconnected.

As Clara typed the final words of her book, she felt a sense of fulfillment wash over her. She poured her heart and soul into those pages, and now, she was ready to share them with the world. Clara knew that every person has a story worth telling, a lesson worth teaching, and a legacy worth leaving behind.

So, take the leap. Grab your pen or keyboard and start writing your book today. Your story matters—now more than ever. Let the words flow and see where this beautiful journey takes you. Who knows? You might just inspire the next generation of dreamers, adventurers, and writers in the process.

Okay, now here are some more thoughts for you-

  1. Write Your Book. I used partial Outlines at first and then I just let the story in each book just flow from me. It’ll happen to you if you get into your own writing rhythm.. And when you complete writing your book-
  2. COPYRIGHT IT! At the U.S. Copyright Office Online. Not any other place! It’s simple and follow the Instructions. Then in the mail, you’ll receive a Copyright for your Book.
  3. Use Word Check. Use Grammar Check. But BEWARE! If you use Slang, the two previous will try to cut it out of your book.
  4. There are few Free Online Publishers you can use.
  5. And there are a lot of Scammers out there ready to Pounce on you and Take Your Monies. I spent years studying them.
  6. If you decide to go Indie like me, it’ll cost you between a Thousand and $3-$5000 Dollars per book to get it in Print. Use the standard Trade Book. And write each chapter with your reader in mind. Write each chapter for short 15-30 minute reads for your reader. On the Costs-
  7. But don’t freak Out! Most have payment plans and treat them just like paying for a car.
  8. An Audiobook is about $3000.
  9. Give the U.S. Copyright Office Two Copies of your book so they Will have it for all times.

There’s nothing more true than this-

You can write your Book when you are truly ready to Write it and NOT BEFORE. You, in your Life, must be at a perfect moment when the Stars all Line Up. Might be after your children have all grown up. But remember this-you are most likely not gonna make any money on your books. So, plan to never break even. Going Indie is all about just getting your Book out there and if you’re lucky stars line up, you might hit the Lottery and a Great Person reads it and puts your Book on BLAST! And your Book will reach Stardom.

But NEVER give up. 99% of the Publishers are not going to Publish you. Out of a million books put out each year, guess where your Book will be in that one out of million books place?

Above is ever A Panther’s Father IV stands alongside other books. So don’t get upset or WORRY. Take it one step at a time.

But again, just do it so you, your Voice, YOU, will leave something behind so others will know you were here on earth. Your grain of sand will still be counted. Even after you are long gone…

Bye and get to Writing-the Living Breathing James Brown

I sincerely wish you the very best and hope your Book will be a great find. Thanks for reading!
